Morag McKinnon is a Scottish writer / director whose global perspective derives from her birthplace in Singapore and her early upbringing in Indonesia. Morag directed the feature
film Donkeys which won a Scottish BAFTA and co-directed the feature
documentary I Am Breathing with Emma Davie which won the BAFTA Scotland
best director award. She also received 16 international awards and a BAFTA for best short for her short film Home. Morag has directed various pieces for television, including, as one of two directors on theBAFTA award-winning series Buried, a visceral depiction of life in prison. Most recently Morag collaborated with Jim Sutherland on a film triptych 'When Fish Begin to Crawl', a meditation on interconnection, climate change and our human place in nature. Morag is fuelled by life long passion for nature, science and art and is focussed on bringing these elements in to her work in a creative, innovative way. Her interest in indigenous perspectives comes from her early experiences in South East Asia, where she experienced a rich mix of beliefs, cultural symbols and religious practices, as well as a deep emotional relationship with the people and places of her formative years.Morag teaches on the Erasmus funded Kinoeyes course at Napier University and part-
