Dr. Mark Wong is a Senior Lecturer (also known as Associate Professor) in Public Policy & Research Methods and the Deputy Head of Urban Studies at the University of Glasgow. He is also the co-investigator of the project created this platform, Sustainable Screens Scotland Network, funded by the Royal Society of Edinburgh. Mark is an expert in racial justice, responsible AI, and using participatory methods to amplify the voice and actions of adversely-racialised people in the digital and green transformations. Mark is experienced in promoting co-design of responsible, equitable, and sustainable innovation in AI, particularly addressing racial bias and discrimination. He has influenced and advised on policies in this area in the Scottish Government, public health, and industry.
Mark was a co-investigator of the NERC-funded “Decarbonising Music Industry: A Survey on Music Fan Attitudes on Sustainability” project, promoting change in the music industry to address the climate and ecological emergency. The project report received >50 news/media outlets attention, including Sky news. He is the Principal Investigator of the "Innovators Assemble" project, which developed a video game, "SEvEN: Seven Voices, One Future", to amplify Minoritised Ethnic's people's voices and traditional ecological knowledge in Scotland's sustainable futures. The game provides a thought-provoking narrative about a future of Scotland where the voice and actions of adversely racialised people are centred. The game highlights real-life climate actions that are Minoritised Ethnic-led and is set in a virtual replica of the Western Scottish Highlands using statellite images. SEvEN was nominated for the "Spirit of Scotland" award at the Scottish Games Awards 2023, one of the most prestigious awards in the Scottish games industry, and the ceremony will be opened by Scotland's First Minister. I joined the Glasgow University Software Service (GUSS) as Assistant Manager in 2021 having held other roles at the University. I manage a range of projects for GUSS, and love supporting student developers to deliver professional project work for customers. Working at GUSS has provided great learning opportunities; in terms of the tech stacks used and the challenges of developing GUSS as a service whilst ensuring that student development teams are well looked after. I enjoy learning about customers’ fields of work and appreciate how the service’s projects can inform students of wider opportunities available to them on graduation.

Inge Ejbye Sørensen is a Senior Lecturer in Screen Industries and Media Policy. She is interested in the production practices, policies and political economy of national and global screen industries, with a focus on the UK and Scandinavia. She is an award-winning producer of documentary and researches international and national screen production, with particular focus on documentary and factual production, Public Service Media, streamers, screen agencies and funding models. She especially interested in ‘green’ production practices and policies around environmental sustainability on and off set, as well as the power of film, TV and games content to influence behaviours and shape green transitions.

Professor Wim Vanderbauwhede is the lead of the Low Carbon and Sustainable Computing activity at the School of Computing Science of the University of Glasgow. He received a PhD in Electrotechnical Engineering from the University of Gent, Belgium in 1996. He has been a lecturer in the School of Computing Science at the University of Glasgow since April 2004. His research has resulted in over 150 refereed conference and journal papers as well as several books and book chapters. His research focuses on compilers and runtime systems for energy-efficient heterogenous architectures, as well as the wider issues relating to low carbon and sustainable computing.
Before returning to academic research, Prof Vanderbauwhede worked in the electronics industry as a Design Engineer and Technology R&D Engineer.
